Vito's Trattoria - San Jose

We met another couple there all four of us agreed it was the best Italian food we have had in quite a while. Our waiter was funny attentive but not hovering or intrusive. We started with the sampler platter appetizer which was delicious. I’ve never had the melon prosciutto combo before yummy! Dishes we ordered: lasagna, chicken Marsala, Rigatoni Raviatta one of the veal choices (not sure which one). None of us were disappointed. Go in on the backside of the restaurant there is a parking garage if the lot is full. It was our first visit but will not be our last.

The service was great and all made with a smile. we all liked the pastas we had, only the risotto was blande.

The Italian sausage was over boiled, very dry, not pleasant. the **** mary was a very sad excuse for a **** mary and the $13 price tag made it worse.

Eating was not at the level I expected. the marinara sauce tasted like pure tomato sauce. I was underwhelmed.

Passing thru San Jose for the night and wanted something close to the airport. Chose this from Trip Advisor. Great choice as our waiter to start out was a hoot.😂 Had a nice Pinot noir to start, split a Caesar salad then wife had eggplant and I had chicken parmigiana. Everything was excellent.
