La Victoria - San Jose

One of the best small chains I have ever been too. Their Orange sauce is a spicy treat that makes every one of their delicious meals just a little bit better. I have never had a bad thing from their menu, but my go-to is the Carne Asada Super Burrito. I will keep coming here every time I visit San Jose!

A cozy little spot with a welcoming atmosphere. The food was tasty—not a fine dining experience, but it doesn't claim to be. I would definitely eat here again!

I haven't visited this location in about ten years, so I was pleased to see that the interior had been freshly painted and the seating area rearranged. It was surprisingly clean, especially for a campus setting. The food remains consistent, which is a relief. I ordered a Breakfast Burrito with bacon and potatoes, while my husband enjoyed a hearty Carne Asada plate that was more than he could finish, which is unusual for him. The leftover meat made for a delicious omelet the next day. And let's not forget the Orange Sauce—it’s a signature of La Victoria and absolutely delicious. It’s clear they weathered the pandemic well and haven’t lost their touch; the food was just as I remembered it fondly. We were fortunate to find street parking since it was a holiday. By the way, does anyone know what this is?

The food here is great, but if you order a burrito, be sure to request it without rice. Otherwise, you might end up with a tortilla that's mostly filled with rice and not much else, unless that's what you prefer.
