I visited this place twice. The service is good and quick. I tasted 2 different vegetarian ramen(both spicy). I liked the spicy creamy vegan ramen better. I'd have liked tofu to be fried/cooked . The tofu they put is super bland. Their outdoor patio hasample space. There will be a little wait when you go for dinners on the weekend. The parking is always full since it's in themall. It's a good try- but not my to-go spot!
This cozy ramen bar is situated in Oakridge Mall in Almaden Valley, San Jose. Please be aware that there is no direct access to the restaurant from inside the mall; you'll need to step outside and walk a short distance along the sidewalk. The restaurant has a lovely setup with both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. The food is served relatively quickly and is beautifully presented. I tried the Flying Vegan Harvest Bowl, and it was delicious! It featured plenty of protein, a choice of four different types of noodles, and generous portions of roasted vegetables on top. The flavors were simply bursting with umami. The place tends to be busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. They also accept phone orders if you prefer takeout.
This restaurant has become a go-to spot for ramen noodles. They offer about six different bowls, and I’ve tried three of them. My top pick is the tonkotsu, as well as the flying vegan, both with two eggs and mushrooms. The broth is excellent, and the place is very clean. The service is outstanding, and I’ve never encountered any issues here. It does get quite busy around lunchtime.
We ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen and the Flying Vegan Harvest. The chicken chashu was well-prepared, but the vegan meat in the Flying Vegan Harvest was just mediocre. Both dishes featured tofu that was quite bland and could use a bit more flavor, perhaps by frying or roasting it. We believe that a good ramen should leave you with the same satisfying feeling from start to finish. This one started off promisingly but didn't quite hold on to that quality. Perhaps the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen would be a better choice. It’s great that they offer two vegan ramen options, so I’d be keen to try that if I return.
