Britannia Arms - San Jose

Great being back at Britania Arms and listening to live performances again!! We came to see Josh Diamonds perform! The owner, Tommy, was amazing and super sweet! Loved his opening speech reminding everyone we have to be safe and wear masks when indoors at the bar and walking around. We could take them off at our tables. Great food, too! Loved the Fish and Chips! Tommy and Pedro (bar tender) were also super accommodating. My sister surprised us and brought an ice cream cake because we were also celebrating our mom's 67th birthday! I asked Pedro if they happened to have paper plates, plasticwear, napkins and a knife to cut and serve our huge party of 20+ people. He didn't hesitate to help!! We were very appreciative of their excellent service! Such nice people! Can't wait to return! Thank you, Tommy and Pedro, for making our night such a memorable one.

We then ordered food, I had the fish sandwich with fries, my sister had prawns with fries, and my friend had fish and fries. The food was all flavorful and the fried items had a perfectly crispy outer layer. The portions were very generous. They also had a pool table for $1 a game and a jukebox where you could play music for $5 giving you 12 credits. The atmosphere and decor were fun and spacious, following all social distancing guidelines. Overall, the experience was enjoyable and memorable. Thank you Britannia Arms for a great time!

Overall, the experience at this restaurant was good, but the food was a bit salty. It would be better paired with a beer. The menu consisted of typical pub-style dishes, with some unexpected Indian food options, which is not uncommon in England.

I went to this restaurant with a friend on Wednesday night for drinks and a game of pool. It was a nice place and the woman working behind the bar was fantastic. The Guinness was well poured and the fish and chips were delicious. I will definitely visit again if I am in the area.

Outstanding pub. Employees are 'good people ' and they serve a great pint. I will come here often.
