Contribuiți la feedbackWe toured the vineyard; visited the private chapel; learned how to make pinci pasta; and dined at the restaurant. With each course, we sampled another wine, and had the chance to purchase wines afterward. We started with Tuscan Bread Soup, Pinci pasta Bolognese, followed by a mixed grille of chicken, ribs, sliced beef, sliced pork, and sausages accompanied by Tuscan beans. Whipped ricotta for dessert. The lunch was very satisfying; atmosphere superb. I loved this little restaurant. Enjoy!
This is a lovely place with very good food and excellent wines, far off the beaten path. On a chilly late-October night two of us had the place pretty much to oursleved, that is until a small party of English speaking women turned up to join their cooking instructor in a meal they had all prepared. The women were exuberant in expressing their pleasure both as learners and diners. Prior to their arrival, we had been entertained by the performance of two of the canine residents, one massive, the other petite, waiting and begging at the kitchen door for handouts, which were conveyed periodically by an unseen hand to the dogs' satisfaction and our amusement. The food at OdD is generally excellent (a stagnate cheese (pecorino) from the cheese primo piatto selection was excellent in its multi-layered complexity. Less satisfying was a saffron flan of sorts...the right color but almost devoid of flavor. The roasted guinea fowl I had as a main dish was the best rendition of that very delectable bird I have ever eaten in Italy or elsewhere. It was perfectly cooked, deeply flavored...Tuscan food at its essence. As I mentioned, the wines made by the owner (Donatella) are all great (and very favorably priced). To enjoy her wine in her own restaurant was a special treat. Osteria di Donatella is much more than a restaurant;however. It's an idea and a living commitment (to women as winemakers and leaders in all fields). It delivers on each of its many promises.
Tuscan agriturismo at its best! An original vineyard experience without the posh nonsense. If you look for great wines and simple original apartments, this is the place to go! Signora Donatella seems to save a great tradition by very carefully inviting guests. Thanks to the crew!
The fattoria was incredible, all the staff very friendly, available and respectful. The restaurant was my favorite! It’s quiet, there are two well-kept swimming pools, the vineyard tours and wine tastings were great! We also did a cooking class with Patricia, it was fun! The only downside was the room which did not have air conditioning but a ceiling fan which made a lot of noise even though it was 37°C otherwise it was a perfect stay!
Servizio, qualità delle materie prime. Olio e vino prodotti dalla loro azienda, chef eccezionale. Location incantevole. Non il solito menù, per Pasqua menu rielaborato.
