You can eat there at one of the seats at the wine barrel, tables, or take it to go. Either way, this is not a place to pass up….
San Gimignano is full of surprises, and this is one of them! We were too early for most of the restaurants to be open so we stopped for a pre-dinner wine tasting with some meats and cheese. The staff were incredibly knowledgable and helpful giving us plenty of info on the wines of the local region as well as the greater Tuscany region. We had shaved wild boar ham, salami and a goats cheese as our accompaniments. All of them epically delicious. You could easily come here and grab a wine, some meat, some cheese and be set for a romantic dinner overlooking the valleys.
Amazing amazing Panini and a cup of coffee, we relished here. Economical and bang in the middle of your site seeing area.
If you are in San Gimignano for the weekend and you can not find a place for lunch in one of the many taverns or restaurants in the country, do as we do, go directly to the bazaar of flavors in the shade of the becci tower. valid both for an economic and wine stop – only eur for a sandwich filled with fennel and pecorino cheese of the Siena clay accompanied by a glass of red wine – and to buy typical products of the quality area, from cheeses to wild boar meats, from noble wines to the typical desserts of the area.
Small place, but very nice, only to make a snack or a sandwich, the very kind girl, explained very well the type of meat and cheese, recommending us also a good wine!
