My first visit but since it was late in the afternoon, what I wanted were sold out already. The place looked decent though and carried theHong Kong bakery items I wanted.
Green Wheat Field Bakery is truly a hidden gem in the San Gabriel Valley. This bakery offers a wide variety of baked goods, but what sets it apart from others is its whole, unsliced loaves. The bread is the epitome of fresh, fluffy, and chewy. Not only does it make for a perfect sandwich, but it also adds an extra layer of texture and flavor to any grilled cheese or toast. One of the best things about Green Wheat Field Bakery is its commitment to quality. Every loaf feels as if it is made the same day, ensuring that each bite is full of flavor and texture. The bakery's attention to detail is evident in every product they sell, from the crusty exterior to the soft and airy interior of each loaf. There have been times when the loaves are completely sold out for the day by noon so don't be too saddened if that happens to you.In addition to its amazing bread, Green Wheat Field Bakery also offers a wide selection of pastries, cakes, and buns. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory, you'll be able to find something that suits your taste. From cream cakes to soft and fluffy buns, each pastry is made with the same level of care and attention to detail as the bakery's bread.
Bought a coffee cake for my sister's bday. The cake was so beautifully decorated and tasted delicious. The sponge was fluffy and fresh, the flavor was not overwhelming. It included birthday candles, and tiny plates and forks, very thoughtful. I will come back and try the other flavors
I love this bakery! There are tons of bakeries in SGV but Green Wheat has great baked goods that are well portioned for appropriate prices. Everything is about 1.5-2x bigger than other bakeries. Their pork sung roll is traditionally rolled up with green onion and pork sung inside/on top, and also 2x bigger than popular bakeries such as Sunmerry and 85 degree's (theirs isn't rolled up either). It's also unique since it comes with a bit of cheese topping. The sesame bread is one of my favorites, with black sesame swirls and walnuts inside. The baked pineapple bun is huge and perfect for stuffing a warm slice of butter inside! The sweets (all the tarts) are also great, though the Dan tat/egg tart doesn't have a flaky crust. It's made like a pie crust. I also appreciate that they still offer FiveStar check ins for points and free bread redemptions.
