We had gathered in a big group to celebrate the birthday of my mannes. so we had high expectations of the meal, but our experience was lacking. the portions, from both appetizers (pita with many sauces in tiny amounts that they really cannot share) and dinners were really small. we have the half of the appetizers first and it took us almost half an hour to get the second part of our appetizers. my main course was the fish, but it was a small part of definitiw not the standard part that is 6-8oz. more like 3oz...half this portion (or less for some of us). for $54 they expect a fully satisfying escape! that was dessert was the only exception and it was a decent part and very tasty. we paid almost $600 for a party of eight people, and when I came home, I had to eat a snack! looks like they wanted to keep their prices high and small portions. but I'm sorry to say it's not for a satisfying meal.
This is our first time in Taksim and I have to admit they are better than we thought! Their sampler dips are to die for! The entire staff is very friendly, we felt at home with their attitude. We also got crunchy king size shrimps and kebab as an appetizer. The story behind lamb shank was very interesting and we loved the combined taste. We will be back soon.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire San Francisco! Turkish dumplings are gluten free and very tasty. Turbot was a different experience, they made something from mushrooms that look like the original skin of the fish. Their food and staff never disappoints, can’t wait to be back!
The restaurant design and ambiance is great. Server couldn't clearly explain items on the menu to my satisfaction. Some of the food was great, some was not my favorite.
