Great japanese dinner, very delicious!!! Wanted to come again before leaving sfo, unfortunately it is not open on monday

Loved visiting Sakana and delighting in the exquisite food they have to offer. From the sashimi to the maki rolls they outdid my expectations. Family-friendly, small and cozy space.

We love all our dishes sashimi omakase chef's choice, uni sashimi, hamachi kama, yakitori/hotate bacon, tuna bomb roll and fried squid legs. Our sashimi omakase came with, scallop, albacore, tuna, salmon, bonito and sweet water shrimp. We normally stay away from albacore and bonito because they are fishes from the ocean in your face, but they were pleasant surprise. Being really fresh, we didn't mind it and really enjoyed them. The fried squid legs are crispy, and not dry with just enough salt. The uni sashimi was one of the best we had fresh without tasting ocean. It's a ultimate uni experience.The waitress was very attentive. The decor is basic, and we don't mind it at all; food is why we come here. This is our favor Sushi Bar and Grill in the city. There are other places in the same area with similar names; make sure you walk in the right restaurant.

Super friendly, cool, considerate staff. Generous, fresh sushi. It feels like the kind of place you'd walk into in Tokyo. Love the drink variety, too. Love this hidden gem!

Oh my.. what a delightful find. A killer joint run by a couple Kumi and Mike.. some of the best service and sushi I've had in a long time. Kumi was slammed at the front of the house and crushed it all night. Chef Mike kept orders flowing without missing a beat! Food and service were exceptional especially for the price... I will be back!
