Palermo Pizza Sandwiches

Disgusting! The place had a strong smell of blood, and the fries were completely overcooked. I'm hesitant to eat the food, so I'm just going to throw it away.

The delivery guy called me from his car instead of using the intercom at my apartment building. I had to convince him to use the intercom so I could let him in. The neighborhood is safe, with very little activity on the street, so he shouldn’t have felt uneasy walking to my door. It didn’t seem like there was a language barrier—he spoke perfect English, and I recognized him as one of the owners. When he arrived, he basically just handed the pizza to me rather than delivering it properly. When the pizza finally got to me, it was a mess, all slid to one side of the box, as if it had been tossed onto the seat of his car instead of being stacked flat. I suspect they don’t get many delivery orders and this was a case of “it’s your turn to deliver the pizza.” In summary, the conclusion is: grab a slice if you’re nearby (4 stars), but for delivery, it’s a different story (1 star). Overall, I’d give it 2 stars.

I have about 3 pizza places in a 3 block radius from my house, and have been to them all. Royalty has the best. I love to order it extra crispy. Friendly staff who will also remember your name and order every time.

When I contacted Grubhub for a refund, the management claimed they had tried to call me. However, I noticed two major issues with that: first, I received a missed call at 6 AM from a blocked number, which was two hours after the expected delivery, and I couldn't return the call. Second, the delivery instructions clearly stated to enter the complex using the provided gate code, but it seemed no one made the effort to follow those directions. If the driver did attempt to deliver the order, they clearly didn’t want to put in the effort and opted for an easy way out by making just one call. Grubhub labeled this as a missed delivery on my part, but they offered me two coupon codes for future use, which can’t be combined—definitely not a satisfactory resolution for my full $45 order. Overall, this experience was frustrating, and they really need to improve their service.
