Contribuiți la feedbackOur Sundae took about 30 minutes to prepare, which was well worth the wait. However, if you have other plans, you might want to consider getting it to go instead of dining in. When you place your order, you receive a number, and you’ll find seating in a common area until your order is ready. The servers will then come to find you using that number. The Hot Fudge Sundae itself was delicious, much like any other sundae, except for the noticeable price tag that reflects the Ghirardelli brand. Overall, it’s a fun stop if you're in the area, but just expect a bit of a wait!
Came here 9 years ago and wasn't too impressed, however i figured I'd visit again since it was my bfs first time and we might as well get some ice cream since we probably won't return to SF any time soon. Got the pick mix squares. 7 of them cost $5.26. Haven't tried them yet, but my bf enjoyed the dark chocolate mint one.We also got the create your own ice cream $10.75 total . Got the single scoop for $7.75 with a dipped waffle cone for $2.25 originally ordered the dipped waffle bowl, but then they told us they ran out and only had the regular waffle bowls. Now why would I get a plain waffle bowl when I already paid an extra $2.25 for the dipped one? . The strawberry ice cream honestly wasn't that creamy or sweet. More icy. Grocery store ice cream is better. Added 75c for diced almonds, and the amount wasnt worth 75c. The single scoop was pretty large at least, and the cone was huge. we shared this. Unfortunately, the cone was meh. And we are suckers for waffle cones anywhere we go. Once we finished the chocolate dipped part, the cone was stale and had no flavor.
The line was very long on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm but the wait was definitely worth it. Just a tip, if you are just going in to buy chocolate, you can skip the line. The line is only for the ice cream counter. While hubby waited in line, I took the kids in to buy chocolate. The loved customizing their own bags with their favorite chocolates. When we finally got to the front, we ordered the cookie sundae and the marshmallow sundae. Everything was delicious! Their hot fudge is so rich and amazing. The chocolate ice cream was so creamy. Only downside is that it was so crowded inside. There was no where to sit. Fortunately it wasn't raining or too cold outside so we found a bench to sit and enjoy our treats.Definitely worth a stop especially if you are waiting for traffic to die down on the bay bridge.
This is a MUST stop for ANY tourist visiting San Francisco! And this little shop knows it! They offer sundaes, shakes, coffee, hot cocoa, a very limited amount of sweet treats and of course Ghiradelli chocolate bars/bags that you can find at your local grocery store. Prices are on the high side, but that is to be expected! I went with their world famous hot fudge sundae.Hot Fudge Sundae $14) This consisted of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sundae, topped with whipped cream, diced almonds, a cherry, a milk chocolate caramel square. I admit the hot fudge was very good and addicting! But the price is ridiculous for such a small treat. It's about the same size, or maybe slightly bigger than the sundae at Mc Donald's! Overall I fell for this tourist trap, and you probably will too! :P You can't come to San Francisco and not stop here.
Now, onto the experience. The line to the counter where you order might be lengthy, as we discovered while waiting to get our overpriced desserts (we tried two sundaes). The enticing aroma while waiting is hard to resist! Just a heads up, there isn’t much seating inside, and the wait can feel a bit long given the number of customers. The sundaes we had were delicious! Additionally, there’s a selection of chocolates available for purchase. Personally, I felt it wasn’t worth buying since you can find similar chocolates elsewhere, but that’s a matter of personal preference!
