Wonderful service, even better food. Every time I'm here I have to order the same item: ham with tofu knot clay pot soup. (Jan du xian in Mandarin. . This soup is slightly opaque, almost milky in appearance. It's about taste, umami, and texture. This place does it right each every time! Just had the braised sea cucumber for the first time. That was heaven! A large portion. Never seen it that size anywhere else. No comparison. 1st it's rare to see it offered at restaurants, 2nd they may not have in stock, 3rd often served significantly smaller ones, 4th not cleaned well, 5th braised superbly, 6th served in a sauce that complemented the sea cucumber in its perfection. It was an immortal treat. The chefs here are true masters. I'm not worthy!!!
Friendly staff, good food. As a Taiwanese I’m always on the hunt for legit Taiwan breakfast foods. Loved their sticky stuffed rice ball 飯糰 which was smaller in size than what I’m used to but quality was great. Also enjoyed their soy milk which was not too sweet. Their fried bun 銀絲卷)was super crispy and delicious too. Prices are great, I’ll be back.
I almost don't want to post a review to keep this place a hidden gem. But they deserve the praise! My partner and I discovered them one hungry night, ordered the basil beef, sweet and sour chicken, and combo lo mein. Everything tasted so fresh even though we went near closing time. My favorite was the basil beef though, wow, talk about melt in your mouth. The owner greeted us and made us feel so welcome and cared for amid covid times, we really appreciated it. Plan on heading back to try more of their authentic and huge menu very soon.
The food is quite good. It's Taiwanese and the best day to go is Sunday for their rice balls. The prices since covid have gone up but the food is still good. There are definitely a few favorites like the combo cold dish appetizer, and other dishes. Being associated with a Taiwanese family, we tend to frequent this place often. There are a few other spots but YMMV.
