Dumpling Kitchen - San Francisco

We had a lunch here on Saturday. It was hard to find parking spots in residence area. Arrived around 1:15pm and waited for 15 minutes to get a seat. Over all the food, service and cleanliness are average. Portion sizes are small. Charge more if you pay for the bill by credit card. (read your bills before paying)

Wow... I only wish I had a restaurant like this close to me.!My dinner was fantastic the service was topnotch and love the small restaurant atmosphere. It's really nice to see them making the dumplings while you eat.. and very affordable. definitely topnotch dinner.!!!

Solid 4.5 stars!Dumpling Kitchen offers a taste of Shanghai, with popular dishes such as the Juicy Pork Dumpling and Shanghai-style Chow Mein. The prices are reasonable, and the service is fast and efficient.Despite a waitlist, the small and simple restaurant manages to seat guests promptly. To our surprise, the restroom is modern and well-maintained.Furthermore, finding neighborhood parking in the Outer Sunset area proves much easier than navigating the congested city streets.

I've been grabbing food from here for a while now, and honestly, it's usually top-notch. But today? Big yikes. I headed to the restroom before grabbing my to-go order and caught a glimpse of the chef tasting straight from the cookware and then dunking the same utensil back in. Look, I get chefs need to taste test, but that's just not cool. And, just throwing it out there, the kitchen didn’t look all that clean either. I'm pretty bummed about this. I really hope they clean up their act, literally and figuratively, because I can't see myself coming back until they do. Hope someone's listening and sorts this out!

I’ve been living in the area for over 20 years and yet I’ve never dined here. I always noticed the line is always long; hence the reasons. So yesterday I gave it a try and ordered through Grubhub for pickup. I’ve been looking for a a good mapo tofu since the restaurant I always go to that has the best mapo tofu decided to close to the business years ago, bummer! So, I ordered vegetarian mapo tofu to try; and to my surprised, it was good. Not nearly as good as my fav schichuan restaurant, but better than most places I’ve tried. I can taste the sichuaan peppercorn that most restaurant are lacking. It’s not too salty but still tasty. And most of all it’s vegetation. I’ll be coming back for more mapo tofu.
