We sat at the back near the window . I had never had the chowder in the sourdough bread but it was very good , we also had the Calamari and clam strips . It was good. There was a lot of choices in the area for clam chowder so I have nothing to compare it with but it was good.
I have been here anytime I travel into SF for a photography trip and can honestly recommend this location for a meal. I always order the Clam Chowder in a Bread bowl which ALWAYS delivers on its deliciousness. The fish and chips are crispy while juicy and are accompanied with their own Tartar sauce.BEWARE OF THE SEAGULLS. (Especially in the afternoon-evening)Kid-friendliness: Colorful tables located outside along with statues.
Wanted to try the chowder but sadly it has bacon in it so not halal, muslim beware. But we had the seafood platter since they were not beer battered. The seafood were fresh, and tasty but the batter was bit plain and had no flavor. Luckily the tartar and red sauce rescued the batter. Fries were thick cut and had perfect crispy texture on the outside and fluffy in the inside. Servers were very welcoming and helpful. Had a nice view of the pier as well.
First time eating chowder's.I think the you can find a better place.14$ and 7$ the local beer.
Best bead bowl White Clam Chowder around Pier 39 in San Francisco. I have came back to this establishment over 10 times in the past few years. I have tried clam chowder all around this tourist location. On this visit my daughter said day if we are going to San Francisco, we need to go to Chowder's for clam chowder and shrimp. And here we are.
