Absinthe Brasserie And Sf

Such an SF classic! Great food, and love the location

I have always loved Absinthe. There were a couple of disappointments on this visit. The fries were not crisp they tasted good but the crispness wasn't there. The french omelette was tasty but I felt the blue cheese was a bit overwhelming and I like blue cheese. The mixed green salad had some sad leaves in it. All in all it was "nice" but not as "nice" as I have had in the past. They did a great job with the outdoor seating and I felt like I was at a bistro in Paris

Fantastic food and service. Have been here several times before and it just keeps getting better

I’ve been coming here for years. It’s a warm atmosphere. The benches need to be reupholstered. I’m sure it’s hard due to cash flow. The menu is consistent. The staff are helpful, especially the bus boys. We were running late so perhaps they were rushing but the onion soup was disappointing. The ribeye was great. The potatoes needed salt! I’ll be back. Second time in two months

Absinthe is absolutely fabulous. No exaggeration. I am not really picky so perhaps my judgement is not one you should depend on. I have NEVER EVER had an omelette this good. I know it’s a basic cooking school thing but I could eat this every day. If I lived close by, I’d spend a dangerous amount of money and time here. It set a beautiful feeling for our first night at the opera and we are so appreciative. Absinthe will be a go-to for SF activities
