Ted’s Market - San Francisc

First time here and it was amazing. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the staff treated me as if I was a regular. Looking forward to becoming a regular :

Authentic bodega style market with lovely familial ownership. Vegetarian options: The vegan salami sandwich was made to perfection

The guy behind the counter, I’m guessing the owner is pretty nice, always polite and welcoming when I come in. First sandwich I tried was the po” boy sandwich…wasn’t impressed. I didn’t order another one until I went in there one day to buy a drink, guy asks me if I’m getting a sandwich and I tell him honestly I didn’t like the sandwich. He recommends the Tri Tip sandwich, I say ok I’ll try your sandwiches one more time. Tried it, nothing special. So, hard pass on the sandwiches and everything is honestly so overpriced overpriced. The sandwich alone is about 17 bucks. I’ll just go get me a banh mi sandwich a few blocks down for under 10 bucks thank you. ?

Frequented this market back in the 80"s when Ted ran the market. The food and service are as good as I remembered. I did miss the black bean soup that they were famous for.
