Whether you're looking for a bottle of wine, a snack, or just about anything else, they seem to have it all. There have been occasions when we've stopped by three times in one night because we were so thirsty! We usually pick up bottles of white wine for around $10 each, although I can’t recall the exact one we typically get. At times, we've also grabbed frozen pizzas, Goldfish crackers, and other snacks to help absorb all the alcohol. The owner is incredibly friendly. I remember we’ve walked in completely drunk before, and he always has a great attitude. I really wish I had such a fantastic convenience store near my place!
Tony has sold the restaurant and retired, and unfortunately, it’s not as good as it used to be. They've stopped using fresh herbs and vegetables, opting instead for cold jalapeños and limes from the fridge. I also noticed that the deli has disappeared, along with their hummus, and the selection is much more limited. They now close before 10:30 PM on weekends, which is quite inconvenient. The person at the cash register doesn't seem to make much of an effort to be friendly and often made me feel unwelcome. It's a sign of the times—many corner stores in San Francisco are like this now. I've noticed more refrigerator space dedicated to kombucha, cleansing juices, and sodas. Because of this, I’ll probably start driving to Mayflower on Jones and Bush for my grocery shopping—they have a much wider range of products and a much friendlier atmosphere!
I wish I could give this place 10 stars! First of all, they have everything you could need. I picked up some fresh strawberries that were sweet and juicy, as well as a noodle bowl that needed to be microwaved. When I asked if I could use the microwave behind the counter to heat up my food (since I didn’t have access to one), the young man working there—who I believe is one of the owner's sons based on other reviews—was incredibly kind and immediately said it was no problem. After I paid, he opened the package and prepared everything for me. Without his generosity, I wouldn’t have had a hot meal. While I waited, I noticed how he interacted with three other customers, and he even ran outside to hand a woman her potatoes that she had left on the counter. I give this store a perfect 5 out of 5!
Poor customer service! The guy that works there is too busy looking at the tv while checking out your products!
Stocked up with a selection of chilled adult beverages from this fine emporium of convenient food and drink. Cashier was courteous and this corner market was well stocked and clean.
