We ordered inside and then went and sat outside. We ordered three pizzas to snack on while we waited, and those were pretty good! Good crust, and nice combinations of toppings. My favorite was the lamb pizza nice layers of flavor. This is a good option if you end up a bit too early (or too late! for the ferry!
Attempted to dine here and was thwarted by a salty bald old man in a yellow jacket. Husband walks in with my daughter and myself asking if they were open. We asked because the restaurant was empty and the door was open. This salty individual says something along the line of no and as my husband walks away, tells him to go and read the sign. We were a bit taken aback because establishments in the ferry building typically uphold quality service. There were no posted signs which was a bit confusing (pic attached). We then asked what the need of that comment was? When I asked if he worked there he gave the stupidest smirk and a lady came by to deescalate and said he was a friend. The lady told us they were serving on the other side. Anyways, out of curiosity, I walked to the other side and was visually unimpressed by the lacking quality of the pizzas. They were small, dry, and dusty (like that old man). In addition to that, the restaurant seating process appeared messy and disorganized. Not sure why we got the bad service, but I wouldn 't spend a penny at this low quality and pretentious restaurant. Maybe it was the way we looked? Maybe it was because we had a kid? Meh? Glad we dodged one!
Came here for a team dinner after planning and it was nice! Service was attentive for our large party and the long communal tables worked well for our setup. Margherita Pizza: this was solid! I'm not enough of a pizza connoisseur to critique the ins and outs of a pizza unless it's incredibly good or incredibly bad. This was definitely on the good end with a light, crispy, and chewy crust, a good amount of sauce, and good cheese. They add burrata, which I love. Musa Pizza: this was solid as well, but not quite what we expected. It's more like a Mediterranean flatbread than a pizza because there is no underlying sauce, instead a spiced lamb puree on top of the crust (the puree is a bit coarse, which I prefer) drizzled with white sauce. I appreciate them mixing things up, and I love Mediterranean flavors so I thought this was good and definitely more filling than a standard pizza. Ginger Roll Cake: really lovely and inventive. I feel like ginger desserts aren't all that popular outside of gingerbread and people build with it more than eat it if that tells you anything but I think it's such an amazing and sophisticated flavor for something sweet! So love that they leaned in on the ginger, and the actual roll cake was nice and fluffy. I feel this dessert would be such a cute tea time treat. Walnut Cake: I thought this would be a hit for me because I love dense and rich desserts, but while this was dense, it was not rich. Honestly a bit dry and crumbly. The flavor was good though. Olive Oil Cake: some of my team members really loved this, but I was a bit let down honestly. My first note, again, is texture. For a cake with oil in the name, I expected quite a bit of richness, but this was barely richer than a sponge. My second note is the lack of olive oil flavor. I kind of would like to be punched in the face with it, but, again, this tasted more like a sponge. The cream and fruit on the side were lovely though. Overall, Boulettes Larder is a solid option if you are looking for interesting eats in the Ferry Building.
Terrible staff rude and discriminants against people with disability I hate to write a negative review but this place deserves it. My father in law was discriminated against at this place. He has Parkinson's disease and needed a place to sit while my wife went to use the restroom. Mind you there is no one even at this place. The most rude worker came out with attitude told he was not allowed to sit at the seat. She made a 75 years old man who is disabled get up and got into an argument with me. This is discrimination and should not be tolerated. I called the manager and she too sounded like she could care less. Saying nothing she could do and can't change the past. No condolences or sincere apology. Just annoyed at my review. So here is another, train your staff to be friendly and professional. Not rude and discriminating against people who have a handicap and need a place to sit for a few minutes. I will be contacting news agency's about this so people know what kind of place this is as well. Guess we can't change the past but you can try to make it better for someone and be sincere.
We had a great experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy, and the pizzas were absolutely delicious. We ordered a wood-fired pepperoni pizza to share, and it was fantastic. The crust was both fluffy and crispy, topped generously with cheese, and the pepperonis had a delightful crispness complemented by herbal notes. The tomato sauce was incredibly fresh, with visible chunks of mashed tomatoes. We initially had low expectations since the restaurant is located in a tourist area, but we were pleasantly surprised. We can't wait to try more pizzas on the menu! Just keep in mind, the prices are on the higher side.
