Contribuiți la feedbackWent to The Market today because I was craving some sushi for lunch and they're closed down foe COVID. There are other on-site places to eat (including Poké right next to it). I'm looking forward to trying trying food when they feel comfortable opening up during these uncertain times. When they come back I'll be sure to give a better review.
Absolute gem in the neighborhood! The quality of the fish is second to none you just have to try it to believe me. I recommend going with a partner so you can take advantage of the prices (cheaper if you order for two vs for one). Also there are some off menu items so definitely ask what's available (we had a white eel). Not to mention our chef was super friendly and very passionate this plus the casual (and not stuffy) environment made our experience quite memorable. I can't wait to go back again!
This reminded me of Whole Foods. There is a wide selection and variety of food. You pick a plate, put in your food, and take it to the cashier. You can take the food to go or eat at the location. There are several tables and chairs. After, you can also go around and shop for food items. There are other restaurant stalls if you don't like the buffet type selection. Organic Coup, Sushi, Filipino, and pizza food stalls are also around the market. Enjoy!
When I was shopping at The Market, I saw a new sign go up at the former Mara space next to Poke Bar): Bay Hae?! First thought: Heeeeyyyyyy! Second thought: Ryan Gosling. DROOLS You know, from all those Hey Girl Memes. Putting my thistyness aside, it 's great to see another new food option open in The Market inside the Twitter Building). This is the second new business to open in two weeks with many more to come! From the owner of the Poke Bar franchise, Bay Hae is a new sushi bar counter. They 're open for lunch from 11:30 AM 2:30 PM and dinner from 5:00 PM 9:00 PM. The soft opening menu is limited to Oysters, Rolls, Nigiri, and Omakase 9 pc $70). Steep pricing; Rolls are $18 $24 and Nigiri is priced per a piece: $6 $10+ so this is definitely a splurge y lunch. Menu Page 1: Menu Page 2: For the soft opening, oysters are 1/2 off. Not sure how long this offer will last. To be conservative, I decided to order several nigiri to sample: Hamachi: Yellowtail $5) Aji: Horse Mackerel $5) Kinmedai: Goldeneye Snapper $6) Hotate: Hokkaido Scallop $6) Sake: Yuzu cured salmon $6) Chu Toro: Medium Fatty Tuna Belly $8) The chef was kind enough to accommodate my request of less shari sushi rice) and more wasabi for the nigiri. I wasn 't sure what to expect from a franchise 's spin off so I was pleasantly surprised in the execution of the nigiri. Nice, even thick cuts and properly seasoned sushi rice more assertively seasoned). Some places can 't seem to get the sushi rice right so I was impressed they got it right on the soft opening...day one. Each nigiri is seasoned and/or garnished so there was no need for extra soy sauce. My favorite was the Hokkaido Hotate, hella thiiickk and sweet. My least favorite was the Chu Toro, it needed to be defrosted more. No Uni today so I 'll need to return for that the chef tries to get Hokkaido Uni when possible). Service was friendly and efficient, with each nigiri served/explained one by one, I was in/out in less than 20 minutes. There 's only about 8 seats at the sushi counter and by the time I left at 11:50 AM, most were taken. It may be a good idea to go right when they open at 11:30 AM or after 1 PM. Suggestions to Management: Kindly consider providing oshibori towels and a chopstick rest. If you 're looking to treat yourself to a splurge y, omega 3 rich lunch in techbro central, give Bay Hae a try!
Food court around a gourmet grocery. Good place to rest, have a drink, snack or meal. Hot table selections, Malaysian and Filipino stalls, wine bar, pizza, something for everyone.
