Balboa Ice Cream - San Francisc

I was in SF visiting my son attending SFSU, and we were going to have a shake at Beep's on Ocean Ave. They were slammed (it was dinner time), so we tried Balboa Ice Cream instead. The wait time was short, the ice cream was rich and flavorful, and the young man that served us was welcoming, enthusiastic, and friendly. It was an experience that reminded me of what used to be a normal experience. I will visit again, for sure.

Always busy so go there with plenty of time, take a number and wait between 10 and 25 minutes. Exotic and classic flavors. Absolutely delicious! If you are in a hurry you can take already packed ice cream and go for the express line.

Very delicious ice cream with very balance flavor, not too sweet. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because one time I buy the usual (peppermint with chocolate chips) and for some reason it has a very strong taste of something like paint thinner I don't know what it was but I choose not too eat it

Great prices. Decent flavor selection. Lots of ways to customize your ice cream with toppings and a variety of cone types and preparations. When we decided to try Balboa after we saw the crowd outside another local ice cream shop I couldn't have been happier when we were able to walk right up to the counter and get served immediately.
