Sidecar Doughnuts And Coffee

We were recommended Sidecar Donuts by @donuthunting, known as the "Godfather of Donuts," and it's easy to see why. They've truly taken their creations to a level that goes beyond the usual donut experience. You won’t have to sift through stale options here since they freshen their stock every hour. While ordering was a bit of a challenge, it wasn't due to the staff; they were fantastic. Our indecision and fear of missing out (FOMO) made things trickier. It's worth noting that four of their donuts are only available once a week, so plan your visit: Malasada on Mondays, Twist Tuesday every Tuesday, Cinnamon Roll on Wednesdays, and Apple Fritter on Fridays. When you place your order, your donuts are presented in a box reminiscent of a corsage case. The act of eating them felt almost primal — as we tried to keep track of who ordered what, our territories of donut enjoyment blurred, only to be redefined repeatedly. Thankfully, all friendships remained intact, and we avoided any serious injuries! We tried the Maple Bacon, Malasada, and Choc-A-Lot, and while each donut was unique, they shared a decadent flavor profile without that heavy "ugh, I regret this" feeling afterward. One of our reviewers even suggested they resemble cupcakes more than traditional donuts. While the donuts are the main draw, it's also worth mentioning that the coffee was quite good. Wow! The young man who greeted us at the door truly understands great customer service! (He didn't have a name tag but was wearing a hat, had a mustache, and was working at 7 AM.) The donuts were huge and delicious, and the coffee was rich and full of flavor. We'll definitely return the next time we're in the area!

Sidecar offers the freshest donuts with truly unique flavors like Huckleberry and Saigon cinnamon. I favor cake donuts, and they have a wide variety available. Although it's not in my neighborhood, it's definitely worth making a special trip to enjoy them.

These guys had a lot of hype to live up to, and boy did they do it! Walking thru the Del Mar shopping area I smelled a wonderful scent coming from where Sidecar resides. Those fresh donuts really put out some great smells. I was overwhelmed withchoices. Ended up with the Maple Bacon, Dolce De Leche Churro and Saigon Cinnamon Crumb and 8 ounce hand poured milk. Crushedthat Maple Bacon pronto!! Wow.. just wow. Brought me back to my days of living in Canada ????????. We love maple and bacon upthere! Up next was that Dolce De Leche Churro, couldn't let that baby cool off. This donut was a Lil bit of heavenly sugarygoodness. Also amazing. Had to save the Cinnamon for a few hours later. And just like the first two, it was an incredible donut????. Go get these warm and have with your favorite coffee or milk or preferred drink and enjoy these big, yummy donuts!

Loved my donuts and everyone was so nice. The shop was adorable and I would for sure go again. I ordered the Passion fruit Pavlova and it was delicious. We also bought the Dulce de Leche churro which was also very tasty.
