Plus she remembers my orders which is amazing! I come here for the Thai tea and this cold dessert that is in coconut milk. So dang good! Also, the banh mi is a must! I'm getting one this very moment with extra pate mmmm! Mouth is watering thinking about it. If you want authentic, this place definitely is!
Stopped in because I was craving Vietnamese food and this was the closest place next to area I was in. It is located inside 99 ranch grocery store. I wanted something cheap and easy pre made. They have banh cuon and goi cuon set of 2 with peanut sauce. I decided to get both since the 2 goi cuon wouldn't be enough. I was feeling hungry this day. I've never been to this deli before but I have passed by it several times. Family owned business very small but well kept. Both items were okay not great but it hit the spot. The vegetables were not that fresh the mint was pretty beat up. The flavor was there for both items. The rice paper was soft and the shrimp cooked well. Peanut sauce was a bit spicy but still had a a good taste. The banh cuon texture was soft and fresh. The nuoc mam was good I wish there was little bit more in the container. Overall the owners are nice and I think we should all help to support local small businesses like this one. I will make more efforts to buy items here when I come to 99 Ranch.
It is with great Sadness to see they are now closed : Loved going here for Banh Mi.
I stopped by for the sandwiches again, which are priced at $5.50 each. These sandwiches are best enjoyed when they're hot and fresh; I tried one a few hours later and the bread had become rock hard and tough to chew. However, it was still delicious, with a nice kick of spice and full of flavor! The same owners are still running the place, and the lovely lady at the counter is just as friendly as ever. I’m especially pleased that they now accept credit cards, as they used to be cash only. The service is always excellent; I usually place my sandwich order, do my shopping at 99 Ranch, and then pick up my sandwiches on my way out. This restaurant has been around forever, at least since I was a child, and it’s still run by the same wonderful lady—I really love that! I highly recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're already planning to visit the store.
I absolutely love this cozy spot located inside the 99 Ranch building. I find myself ordering the Papaya Salad nearly every week during my grocery trips; it’s so addictive with the perfect amount of heat from the red jalapeño! This week, I purchased two (the photo shows some condensation since I refrigerated them overnight). I also enjoy their Banh Bao (steamed pork bun), which is definitely a meal on its own!
