Mona Lisa Italian - San Diego

I've been to this restaurant twice, and both times the food was served cold. I didn't enjoy the pizza either visit. It might be appealing if you like your food cold and salty. The service is very slow, especially when you're waiting for the check. I noticed that I had to wait a long time for that. When I finally received the check, it was calculated incorrectly on both occasions. Frustrated, I just paid and left. While waiting, I also noticed that the paint was peeling off the walls, and the men's restroom had a strong smell of urine. To make matters worse, the men's restroom also doubles as the receiving area, so food goes through that space before it's stored in the kitchen. Overall, the food is cold, overpriced, and the place is falling apart. That's the best I can say about it. I definitely won't be returning.

My friend Vera ordered an extra-large veggie pizza for takeout, along with two pasta dishes—one with mushroom tomato sauce and the other with Alfredo sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were very generous. My birthday lunch for six was truly fantastic!

Great pizza but a terrible lunch place to come to. Currently it's 1239pm on a Friday, we're the only 2 people in the restaurant. No lunch menu, no kids menu, no apple juice for kids... lady working barely speaks English. They really need to up their game for a restaurant open at lunch or decide to just close and keep it as takeout only and weMll go to another sit down pizza place. Very disappointing.

Mona's Restaurant is located in the curious neighborhood of Allied Gardens, which makes it a fun drive to reach the restaurant in an unexpected location. Parking is not an issue. I like to sit in the semi-circular booths on the left as you enter. My usual go-to selctions are the Chicken Parmigiana or the Tortellini, which you can have with Marinara upon request. The dinners include a hearty Minetrone and garlic bread. Service by Scarlett is refined, gracious, welcoming and efficient, and her wonderful manner is the reason I return to this secret spot as often as I do!

I had the grilled chicken Cesar sald and it was a big portion and very tasty.Food: 5/5
