El Gordo Mexican Food - San Diego

Love this place! Surprisingly great quality food for a drive thru taco shop. The tortillas and beans were very tasty which isn’t common for this type of restaurant. Birria was good too! Good portions and good price!

Amazing food with lots of ingredients. Every dish they make has many ingredients which makes the food taste better. Something simple like quesadillas have ingredients that normally you won't find in other restaurants. And their line of food with Birria is just amazing. Apparently it's a well known method of cooking and serving in Oaxaca, Mexico. And it's very unusual for San Diego, so you just have to try it

The worst breakfast burrito I've ever had in the whole 20 years I've been in San Diego. Potatoes were dangerously undercooked. Like, I hope I don't get sick. No flavor at all. Didn't add the beans we asked for and paid for. Little to no gauc. Asked for extra salsas several times and got 3. 2 red and 1 green. Will never come back. Really disappointed.

The PRETTIEST Burrito you've ever seen! TASTES as good as it looks.

Perfect drive thru Mexican food. We ordered a veggie burrito and a fish burrito, both so big and delicious! They had Jamaica water that was flavorful and not too sweet. Fish burrito comes with salad and rice and refried beans so it is a whole meal. The portions are generous and very very tasty. Inexpensive for what you get. I will certainly make this place one of my to go! Places. The cashier was sweet and friendly and the cook was working hard to make things fresh from scratch.
