Contribuiți la feedbackLocated just north of the popular walking street and across from the southwest corner of the textile market. This homey Mexican restaurant offers enticing regional dishes that are a nice step beyond the familiar quesadillas and tomales. Extremely welcoming host and, at the right time of day, live marimba music while, over in the corner, you can watch fresh tortillas being cooked over an open fire. Two of our favorite dishes were their chile relleños and spicey pork. Not the least part of the fun are the slightly off-the-mark English translations of the Spanish-language menu (like chicken prey prepared with odorous herbs and various species. Go and you 'll have a good time!
I ate here twice, once for lunch and then again for breakfast, it is a delightful spot. The service was excellent and I loved the fresh home made tortillas and the marimba player. The food was excellent. Thank you
We found this place the first night we were in san cristobal and ended up eating there for either lunch or dinner several times. it 's small and obviously caters to tourists menus in several languages but it also has locals and regulars and feels authentic. chile rellenos, and pollo enchiladas were favorites. there was also a dish of steamed chayote that was delicious labeled 'warm salad ' very simple but fresh and savory. they serve a refreshing version of sangria a Mexican red wine. at lunchtime, we were entertained with music. the atmosphere in general is friendly fun. one caveat not the cleanest place, but this is worth overlooking. worth a visit.
You have to go there at least once even if the prices are for tourists and do not reflect the cost of traditional Chiapas cuisine. The service is good, the atmosphere is very relaxed and you get good traditional love music.
Six of us went for a friend's birthday. Three people ate from the same anafre varied meats and the other three of us ate vegetarian food. The three that ate the meat plate all got violently ill that night. It was pretty clear where they got sick. Unfortunate.
