Riviera - San Clemente

We love this restaurant. Easy to park at the SC Inn. Excellent food and drinks. Friendly, helpful staff and the chef often checks on the tables. Maybe the best poutine we’ve ever had.

Service was excellent. We ordered brussel sprouts, chicken bites, truffle fries, and salad. The salad was good. Fries was okay. I didn't like the chicken bites tasted like frozen chicken nuggets and brussel sprouts was sweet. The main entrees steak and fried chicken were terrible. Mashed potato was terrible, steak was bland. Broccolini was burnt.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is not fancy but food and presentation excellent. All four of us had something different and everything was delicious and beautifully plated. We will definitely be back!!

We ate at Riviera about a year ago and had a fantastic experience with food, drinks, and service all excellent. Our second time going this past week was very different. The food was ok, but unexceptional. The drinks were the same. Service was excellent, but perhaps that was because we were one of only three occupied tables in the entire restaurant. For the cost of the meal it was just not worth it. I'm not sure what has happened to this establishment but my wife and I both agreed we're not going back.

Nice choices on the menu. Service was good. Hotel guests and looks like a local's hangout.
