Contribuiți la feedbackWe are back after a very cold week in Matagorda. Just want to tell you how wonderful this establishment is. We were there everyday and the food the best we have tasted in Lanzarote and we have been there 24 times in eleven years. Porridge, sandwiches, tapas and cakes, you name it, they get it right. The piece de resistance is the chocolate biscuit cake. Cant wait for our next visit.
In the touristy world of British and Irish fried breakfasts and everything with chips and ketchup that is Matagorda this simple little cafe is just wonderful. Good coffee. Homemade brown soda bread. Nice sandwiches. Hummous. Healthy down home food like your granny used to make. And cakes and desserts to kill for! Going back for lunch for the third time this week today. Really friendly owners/staff.
Fab lunch time spot, the meals were lovely and the children were well looked after.
Found this gem of a bistro on our last trip. The home made scones, breakfasts and lunches were excellent. Real home cooking with excellent presentation. Ok it was dearer that your 'full english ' elsewhere but you do get what you pay for! Wonderful irish soda bread, cheese scones, open sandwiches. We only found this towards the end of our holiday and managed to squeeze in 3 visits we will definitely return!
This place is a little bit different and all the better for it- whether you want a breakfast which isn't a greasy fry, sandwiches with a twist ,tapas or home made cakes or desserts. I tried four different desserts and they were all excellent). A glorious setting and friendly staff. It is hard to believe it has only been open for seven or eight months. It is family friendly and open seven days a week. I think La Posada means a stopping point or resting place. I would strongly recommend you stop off there .
