Zocalo Mio - San Antonio

You absolutely must visit Zocalo! I had lunch there two days in a row, and it was incredible. The staff was welcoming, the food was fresh, and the service was quick! On my first visit, I ordered the La Cubana Sandwich, which reminded me of Jon Favreau in the movie "Chef" as he searched for the perfect Cuban sandwich. Just like in the film, this sandwich did not disappoint. The following day, I tried a Mahi Mahi rice dish, and it was fantastic! The fish was perfectly cooked and practically melted in my mouth, while the rice and vegetables were fresh and flavorful. Each meal comes with tortilla chips and a selection of chili sauces ranging from mild to extremely spicy. Prices for meals are about $10 to $15. Make sure to stop by and enjoy!

I absolutely love her Cubano sandwich! Whenever I visit, it’s a treat. The location is fantastic—right by the river on Houston Street, with a charming little outdoor seating area in front. I’m so glad to see Zocalo Mio back, even if they’re operating on a limited schedule. We really missed them during the long pandemic shutdown, and I was worried they might not return.

I ordered the Torta Ahogada with chicharrones and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was soft and moist, and the combination of pickled onions and cabbage is one of my favorites. The salsa had a nice kick, though I would have preferred it a little spicier. To top off the experience, I enjoyed sitting outside by the Riverwalk, feeling the vibrant energy of downtown San Antonio. Thank you, Zocalo!

The meals are served with tortilla chips and they had a selection of chili sauces that you could choose ranging from mild to super spicy. The price per meal was around $10-$15. Stop on by and enjoy!

Best deal in town! These tacos are so big!! worth eating here. Yes they do have Dr pepper for us dr pepper lovers!!
