I started with the vegetable gyoza, which was lightly fried to a crisp perfection, and the dipping sauce was full of flavor. The green salad that accompanied it was fresh and generous, featuring slices of tomato and cucumber, as well as plenty of greens and shredded carrots, all paired with a side of ginger dressing. After these two dishes, I was already confident that the rest of my meal would be equally delightful. For my main course, I ordered the Lennon Pepper Tuna Roll, which was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I also tried the salmon skin hand roll, which I adore for its crunchy texture, and all the ingredients combined beautifully. I left feeling very satisfied with my new experience at this restaurant. I usually hesitate to try new places because I dislike spending money on subpar meals, so I tend to stick to what I know. However, I'm really glad I gave this restaurant a chance; everything was fresh and tasty! I regret not taking any pictures because I devoured it all!
My favorite sushi spot in San Antonio! The service: Perla exemplifies top-notch service. The restaurant has a minimalist yet cozy vibe, and the patio is lovely. As for the food, I enjoyed the Agedashi Tofu (appetizer), Crispy Tuna Roll*, and Cheesecake Roll* (dessert), along with an espresso. Everything was absolutely superb! You really can’t go wrong with this place. *Pictures below.
It's great to see a good sushi restaurant in Stone Oak. The rolls are delicious and priced right (for the area). The staff was polite and attentive. The only critique I have is there is a shortage of salmon or tuna focused rolls. But if you like shrimp rolls, you're in luck. The tuna nigiri is a good deal and the rolls were well balanced yet elaborate. The two of us did lunch for under $40. Not bad. I'm going back! Update 5/22 Dinner tonight was delicious. The rice crispy app was a good start. I really enjoyed the Luis and Rainbow rolls for good'ol classic fish based sushi. I recommend the Marilyn Monroll for something different. It's a sweet and savory roll, using strawberry and fish. Add some soy and wasabi for an amazingly rounded flavor. They have a decent Saki selection, too. I found the special Philly had too much cream cheese. It really overpowered the rest of the roll. But that's a pretty typical mistake with cream cheese, imo. I think I might try a poke bowl next time. Those looked yummy. Table for four had a filling dinner for$120+ tax.
