Panera Bread - San Antonio

I became ill immediately after dining at this restaurant. I ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup and a cheese flatbread. I noticed the employees smoking cigarettes right outside by the drive-thru, which was concerning. I observed several red flags during my visit, so I will not be returning.

I was charged twice for my lunch at this restaurant. I originally paid with a credit card, but was told there was an issue with the payment and had to pay cash instead. When I realized the double charge on my credit card on Tuesday, I called the restaurant to resolve the issue. However, the manager said they couldn't go back that far and suggested I provide a receipt showing the cash payment. When I explained that I live in another city and couldn't easily return to the store, the manager instructed me to call back after 2 pm when another manager would be available. It was frustrating that such a simple mistake couldn't be rectified promptly. I plan to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Avoid having breakfast at this restaurant. The food is comparable to prison food. The breakfast sandwich served on French bread consists of dry eggs and tough sausage. The food lacked any enthusiasm in its preparation. The employees seemed unmotivated and unhappy, similar to those at the DMV. I regret spending $20 on this meal and should have just thrown it out the window.

I don’t recommend this specific location. Each time we’ve used the drive thru, the order has been messed up and the service rep was short and somewhat rude on each occasion. The most undesirable order is in the photo attached to this review. This is your typical Steak and White cheese sandwich order, but what you see is what we got. I give this two stars because when I called the store, the manager was very friendly and willing to correct the order. Unfortunately, we didn’t see this until we got home. I’d like to add, in comparison with some other reviews, many times we’ve came through here the store says they’re out of something such as bread bowls, Mac n Cheese, etc.

Food was good and didn't take long to make. They forgot to put chicken in my salad but all I had to do was let them know and they put some in a bowl for me. I give 3 stars because of the cleanliness. Dishes on at least 6 tables and didn't see anyone cleaning it up. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING
