The quality of the food has certainly fulfilled the expectation. However, the proposal for the upselling and the end of the Essen Club membership was unexpected and irritating. It is unusual to spend more than $100 per dish for a meal and be honed with advertising.
Always exciting, the food is always perfect and the service is immaculate and friendly.
In town on business, used the opportunity to reconnect with great friends.
As president club members, we eat at Morton’s in the Houston area quite often. Last night at the Morton’s in San Antonio on Crockett Street, we were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday. We had amazing service and we’re treated wonderfully, but the food was very subpar. My 8 ounce lobster tail Came out cold and thin and rubbery. My husband’s 10 ounce fillet that he ordered Pittsburgh medium rare came out perfectly cooked on the inside but the char tasted like someone took a propane torch to it. The chop salad was great as always, and I can’t say enough about the wonderful service, but the food is certainly not what I expect from a Landry’s owned steakhouse. The manager insisted on comping our appetizer and dessert, which was totally unnecessary, but greatly appreciated. Again the service from top to bottom was outstanding. Only the kitchen failed in doing their job.
