La Panaderia Downtown - San Antonio

This restaurant does not participate on Open Table our reservation was not recognized or honored. However the food was delicious

I was disappointed in this place because I made the reservations through OpenTable, yet we were told by a manager that they didn’t honor OT reservations because they weren’t notified about them. Yet I received a text message confirming my reservation. THEN, they moved us three times. I was with seven other people. First, we were told a table was for us; it had ‘reserved’ signs on it. I was impressed. Then a different person came over while we were in line to get food and said it wasn’t for us, so we were moved to a table that someone else was occupying. I said there was no way we’d all fit there. Then a bunch of small tables we put together and we could finally sit. It was terrible. The food was meh

Wonderful pre theatre lication for good food. Great value

Superb for pre theatre grub. Salads and Tortas are wonderful

Made a reservation through Open Table, but upon arrival, they didn't know. Howeever, the team at La Panadería quickly arranged for a table (it was not a busy hour, really, but there were customers and not a lot of tables). Bread is the center of the business, both sweet (pan dulce, which is very, VERY, good, especially when just out of the oven -all is fresh! and for "tortas" (telera and bolillo are very authentic, Mexican sourdough with "masa madre" yeast), which they fill in with several meat options (pastor, carnitas and steak, which we tried on a bolillo and was very good.. There are salads (tasty), and "aguas frescas" (lemonade, and jamaica). Being Mexicans, we appreciate having the option of authentic food... and willing to pay the price. Thanks guys
