Fat Boss Pub - San Angelo

So this bar definitely smells like old beer. Looks clean, nice bathrooms , but not enough space to fit the weekend crowd. My problem with this bar is the staff, specifically Bryan. I understand if it 's busy, or if there 's dishes you need to wash, but to just be an **** to your customers and tell them you won 't serve them because you personally don 't like them, is trash. Even at that I 've had to bark at bartenders to come refill my drink, because I 've already finished my drink, the ice, waited 5 minutes, AND it 's not even busy. It 's sad. I 've also heard bartenders say they don 't wanna make certain shooters, they just wanna make straight shots, to pick something easy. I don 't expect bartenders to stop what they 're doing but if there 's no one in the bar but me, you could at least take 3 minutes to small talk or upsell a drink, before you go stand on the opposite side of the bar and text on your phone. Just saying. I haven 't been in the bar in months cause the service is trash, and when my friends and I go out we usually skip this one.

This nar is a welcoming place to someone that is not from around here. Great service from all the Bartenders and wait staff.

I drink a lot of Jameson, so I know what Jameson tastes like. They water down their alcohol. I've bartended for a long time and I know this is a true practice and unfortunately I've found it out at this location. Otherwise atmosphere is cool and the beer is legit.

This place is one of my favorites to go to downtown. I'm always pretty pleased at how I get my drinks in a decent timely manner even when it's totally packed. The music is always fun the atmosphere is nice. Just wish they had a dance floor, theres always people dancing all up on each other while I'm trying to order a drink, it's awkward to have a couple grinding on each other while waiting in line. All in all its a cool spot. Their cucumber shots are to die for!

I'm definitely a bar snob and expect perfection. That said, as far as San Angelo goes, it's the closest to big city quality as I have found. Bar tops could be kept cleaner, maybe a little more hospitality from the bartenders, but it was still a good experience and I will return with friends. -Bathrooms we're clean. -Empty tables were immediately cleaned. -Wait time at tables is not too bad. CONS-no outdoor smoking/sitting area. Otherwise would be a solid 4 stars.
