Asti - San Andreas

Directly across the street from our hotel, we thought we'd give it a try and weren't disappointed. Food was delicious (with generous portions) and the service was great. The waiter even was able to recommend a grappa that my husband liked! Warm atmosphere. Calamari was cooked to perfection, the salmon was delightful and we'd definitely eat there again should we return to San Diego.

Our hotel suggested this Italian restaurant for a meal. Whilst the prices were above average both the alla vodka seafood vongole were tasty dishes. Assumed the gratuity was included in the price, wrong, the waiter thought I was rude but we forget that the minimum wage is poor and tips are important for the working class.

We visited Asti as it was rated on trip advisor as being top 10 and it didn’t disappoint, fabulous food set right in the heart of the Gas Lamp Quarter. We sat outside which I would recommend.

We've eaten here twice now. Last year during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego and again this year. Despite the crowds and how busy the night was (the restaurant was packed both times , our entire group felt that their meals were great. Cooked right, seasoned right, flavors balanced, and consistent. A restaurant that can get it right during these hectic days clearly has its act together Just like last year, our waiter (Saili? was knowledgeable. He knew the preparation, the sauces, the ingredients, and more. I would definitely go back. The pastas are cooked right. The fish is never overcooked. And they even had some good vegan options (for some in our group that did not seem like afterthoughts. Worth putting on your list of places to try.

My family enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food at this restaurant. We had the spinach ravioli, pappardelle, spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta dishes were fantastic! The ribeye steak was ok, not worth the price, I wish I had ordered a pasta. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
