Contribuiți la feedbackAttended the Samford Valley Hotel recently for lunch for my Birthday, We waited nearly an hour to get our order when I was checking the ticket to see what time we ordered I noticed I had been charged more for a meal,we had ordered ... I went to a staff member to enquire about this and was told that it was correct I sad yes for that meal, but I didn't order that I ordered something different.. So I said could I have my money refunded they said they would give me the difference and would cook the correct one so I said how much longer would I have to,wait they said 10 mins so I said OK... Half an hour later I received my meal so we had waited nearly 2 hours Hubby said his meal was very poor and the meal that they re did for myself well I ate some but the left the rest it was awful would never go there again very over priced for the quality you receive. I have been there in the past and was quite pleasant but seems to have gone down hill much better places around ...
This is typical of your average 'country' sort of pub, nothing outlandish, the setting is nice and relaxed and the food is great with quite a variety to suit everyone's tastes. It can get very busy especially on a Sunday afternoon, as it can be a popular hang out for motorbike riders heading out for a cruise on a nice sunny day. Definitely check it out if you are heading through Samford.
Arrived and went to order a Pizza for me and 2 children at 11.50am. Three rude young girls told me Lunch does not start til 12noon. I said ok, I'll have a Hawian Pizza. They still would not take my order until 12noon. I should of walked out of the place then. but since they are the 3 food establishments in Samford that are licence I stayed. So had to go up again and order at 12noon. $20 for a Pizza OMG, I must be mad paying this. It was horrid. The most tasteless pizza I have ever had. It came out on a china plate and was swimming in Pineapple juice, the dough was under cooked and it looked and tasted like the chopped up ham was from a coles deli.
We went to the pub for a busy Sunday lunch. We had the lamb shanks and grilled chicken. The sauce was supposed to be on the side of the chicken but obviously someone had put it all over it and then did a very bad job at wiping it off and chucking it back on the plate. As we had already waited 40minutes and were hungry we didn't take it back. Food was pretty average - not terrible but just not great either. Flavours just missed the mark and the presentation is stuck in the 80s.This place has so much potential. Get some good chefs with some flair and get some interesting things on the menu and pay more attention to the food you are serving. An expensive lunch at $55 when you have to order and pick up the food at the counter. Not in a hurry to go back.
We are regular customers of the Samford Valley Hotel. Lately their service is slipping badly!We always like to order the Petite Fillet Mignon. Last night we again wanted to order it, but were rudely told by the female order taker it was no longer available, (even though it is on the blackboard menu) instead they had a special of it that night. We ordered the special. The steak was cooked ok. But the disgusting slop that was supposed to be a roesti was inedible and ruined the whole meal! The tasteless oyster mushroom sauce was just as bad.Why change a perfectly great meal? Why was there no choice of sauces? Why the disgusting slop instead of chips?
