The food was good. But the service was terrible. They should put more qualified people to offer a better service. The girl who attended us did not know how to make any recommendation, much less take an order. I stop ordering dishes and brought a wrong dish.
This restaurant serves the best food in town. I have sampled many dishes and they have all been amazing. I usually struggle to find good beef in the DR, but this restaurant consistently serves it perfectly. The sauces are all very tasty as well. The service may be slower compared to other restaurants in the city, but I believe the high quality of the food makes it worth the wait.
We found this place on our last day in Samana. It is right across the street from the docks where the whale watching boats are. We asked our captain to recommend a good place for lunch, and that was their choice. That was the best meal we ate in the Dominican Republic. Our party had seafood, steak and pasta and I tried them all. I think I would call the food island french, with a brasserie feeling served on seafood, steaks and pasta. The room is small with an open view of the bay. I guess there might be 20 tables in the covered outdoor dining room at the front and another 3 or 4 near the bar at the back. The wine list is fine (and above average for Samana), but we just kept it by ordering Cervezas. The service was good, pleasant and the slow island-time step we have learned to tolerate. Lunch for four with beer was 3400 pesos (including taxes). If we found this place on our first day, we would probably have gone back. If you're in or near Samana, you need to look for this place.
The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. I ordered the curry and mango beef, which was top quality. The chocolate cake was also amazing!
