Contribuiți la feedbackWe had lunch here and then returned to Weds in the evening) for dinner. It's the same menu. We had goulash, flame cake and bloodworm. Every dish was delicious. Augustinian dark was very good. Excellent friendly service. On Wednesday night they had a band in the front bar. Four young men. traditional Austrian folk music. The front section has high-plate tables. The back room is in the style of a beer hall. It was empty on Wed's evening while we were there, but not closed. Conversation would be possible there while the band can still hear in the background.
There were some friends. When we arrived, they had to clean the table that's okay. But the fact that under the table many things are lying around was not okay. It took quite a long time to get a few drinks (what...only beer and waiter seemed a bit drunk that became worse and worse during our stay. The food was expensive and unbearable for this price. The burger was tasteless, the salad with bark dumplings had a lot of sugar in the salad dressing and was very sweet. The chicken broth was as small as the children's menu. The barracks swim in oil. We had to wait 40 minutes to get the check after we told the waiter about 4 times. And he really told bad and sexist jokes (maybe because of the drinks or drugs he had... we will never go there again and I would recommend it. No more dinner in Salzburg than here...
Really bad experience. We waited almost 30 minutes to order and after 40 minutes I received the information that the dish was no longer available and I would have to choose another one. Total disrespect and bad service.
The host house Golden Kugel is located in the heart of the old town of Salzburg in the Judengasse. Already in 1317 the branch was known as Guglbräu, a brewery. They feed or enjoy a beer inside. In summer there is a terrace. The restaurant offers good Austrian cuisine and beautiful Bavarian Augustiner beer. The kitchen works on fast serving. Service is sufficiently friendly. We came on a cold week night in January. The restaurant was quiet. The menu is classic Austrian. We went for Veal Schnitzel with potato salad, accompanied by an Augustinian noble. The carving was delicious and the beer was good. If you like a restaurant in Austrian style with good beer and delicious food, Golden Ball is the place for you.
We ordered the calf sausage for lunch with a glass of dark beer. All right. Service was quickly pleasant. Not bad prices for Salzburger Altstadt. We're going to visit again.
