The Copper Onion - Salt Lake City

Came here on a friend recommendation before heading to the airport. Lucky that the parking garage next door was free because of the parade which was a plus. I had the pork chop and my wife and the Stroganoff which we really enjoyed. The wine and cocktails were very good along with the house bread/chilis and the cheesecake. Zach provided great service. Only issue was it was a bit loud inside at the beginning of the meal but after that it was fine.

Came in for dinner. Food was tasty, service was great. Portions were not so big but we were happy about that because we ended up up not overeating. Do not go here. The service was unfriendly and very slow. It took them over one hour to seat us and we were forgotten in the corner by the staff. The portion size is small for the high prices that you pay. I had a hamburger and it was average. My wife had the beef stroganoff that tasted like hamburger helper.

Great ambiance, prompt service, and very good food! It's a fairly nice place but not too nice for the server to offer up crayons and paper to my 3 yr old. I arrived thinking I would order fish but then I decided that a burger was what I really wanted. The arugula salad was solid but the burger blew my mind. The bun was fresh and delicious, the meat patty was fresh, tender, and wonderfully flavored. The caramelized onions and melted Swiss cheese sent it over the top. This is the best "gourmet style" burger I've had (or at least the best I recall) and it only cost $13 including the arugula salad. I'll definitely be going back to The Copper Onion.

Best thing about the Copper Onion: very good looking bus boys. Next best thing: the pork belly. Service was not 100%, would have been okay waiting longer if my delicious hand-crafted cocktail had arrived before the food. Fun and hip atmosphere.
