Mariscos Ensenada - Salt Lake City

We’ve been here about 10 times in the last 2 years. Today we noticed our bill to be higher than usual and with one less person. They always and only ever gave us a credit card receipt, the total on the CC receipt was $112, we tipped $25. I asked for an itemized receipt, And sure enough they were additional charges, extra avocado, even though the dish comes with avocado, and worst of all they had already added a 15% tip. So our bill was only $90 but the waitress took it upon herself to add a $15 tip and made it look like it was part of the bill.$35 tip to serve two adults and two children, definitely wasn’t worth it. Service wasn’t the best, didn’t even offer an extra help and never refilled our waters, and lately they’ve skimped on their shrimp in their soups, $18 for a quesadilla is total bill !I am upset that all the times we’ve been in they have double pocketed in tips.WILL NEVER RETURN HERE DUE TO THEIR SNEAKY WAYS.

It was the worst experience that I have had at this place. When we got there the server didn't even ask if it was a takeout or a dine-in she assumed it was a dining and brought chips and salsa to the table and I told her it was a takeout she threw the chips and salsa on the table on left upset. After we placed our order we waited over 45 minutes for our food and there was no one in at the restaurant at the time and when we asked how much longer it was going to be they seem to get upset. The food was horrible the shrimp was so rubbery that you can even chew it the rice was hard the beans were dry I don't know if they had a different cook this time or what but the service was so horrible likely not to go there again after spending over $100 on food this is not what I expected from them.

Food was delicious deserves 5 Stars for taste, however it’s definitely overpriced. The service was poor. The server brought me the wrong dish so then I had to wait for my food while everyone else ate. As usual the fountain soda machine is still broken nobody seems to care.

Really good chip&sauce, better chicken burritos and shrimp cocktail you have to try.
