Caffe D'Bolla - Salt Lake City

Our experience at this restaurant was very unpleasant due to a pretentious coffee snob. This is definitely not a place Anthony Bourdain would approve of. I am a chemist and the barista couldn't even explain the science behind their coffee. They told us it would take an hour to brew, so we never got to try their supposedly amazing coffee. If you enjoy paying $7 for a latte that takes an hour to make and discussing why craft beer is essential for surviving the apocalypse, then this is the place for you.

The coffee was good. obviously a lot of care in the selection of the beans and the brewing process. but the owner was so pretentious and coveted that my man and I felt uncomfortable to be only in there. my man does not drink a coffee, so he tried to order a boba. they had none. So he tried to order a chai. the owner says we don't have one. No one comes here for the chai. Why put the dinge on the menu if they don't use it?

If you are a coffee lover, you must visit this cafe. It serves one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. The owner is well-known and very friendly. You will enjoy your experience here and learn a lot about coffee.

This coffee is an emotional experience. beyond the dynamic taste profile of the espressos, it filled me with literally happiness in a way that I can only describe as artistic beauty.

I feel like I had a transformative coffee experience at this restaurant. I didn't realize coffee could be so special and offer such an amazing experience. John's espresso has always been the standard by which I judge coffee wherever I go, from specialty cafes in Europe to North America. After setting up my own espresso equipment at home (including a niche zero grinder and Flair 58), and going through 50 hours of tutorials, I was mostly disappointed with the shots I pulled. However, after bringing all my gear to d'bolla, on our third try, we finally achieved the elusive 'god shot.' I am thrilled to now be able to have incredible espresso at home. Thank you, John!
