Pizzeria Rostticceria Red Lion

We arrived in Sorrento first night and were looking for a place to eat. Our host recommended this location as good and cheap. Not sure if that was the vibe we gave off but it was good and it was not expensive. We went on a Monday night got in around 7:00pm there were a few people in the restaurant but it was s steady flow of locals throughout the night. Ambiance and service were excellent, staff were attentive and very friendly. We ordered a bottle of local wine very drinkable indeed. We both ordered a Calzone and one of large selection of deserts. The Calzone arrived it was fresh baked and large enough to spill over the edge of the oversized plate. It was delicious! The desserts were creamy and fresh. We finished the bottle of wine prior to dessert and never felt rushed by the staff. A couple of expressos went down with the dessert for an exceptional meal. But wait there was not one but two rounds of limoncello to end. I am not sure what we did to deserve that but boy was it a nice touch. The bill for this feast was under 40 Euros, needless to say it went up with a well earned tip.

Good wholesome inexpensive fare. They made me spaghetti carbonara on request not on the menu and the beer was surprisingly drinkable. Wine list v short one red and one white wine. A welcome surprise.
