West Salem Barbecue

Excellent with excellent service. We had the ribs, brisket beans, Brussel Spouts, pulled pig. Ribs without drying out. The BBQ sauce had taste with a hint of spice and sweetness. Oh and the free chips and salsa also excellent. This is an update. On the way back from our trip. Had the smoked burger who is several smoked meat Cheeseburger. Nice to get a burger that can rarely be made medium. It has its own special sauce, but I had to add some of their BBQ that also works on the chips. As a side I had her Koleslawin. Very light and would be perfect for adding to a sandwich. I have a quarter of her BBQ sauce. Can't wait until they fill it, so I sent it. Forget to mention that this is two places in one. El Jefe and West Salem BBQ. You can park on the back if you do not want to park on the main road.

On my long journey through all the states of the USA I wanted to end this week with a delicious meat meal and not for a second regret to choose this restaurant in a city where I was not even planned to be in today. The meat is great, the Brussels sprouts are unique, the Koleslaw is the freshest and the maize bread finishes this firework of taste. The most important value and decoration of this restaurant is service. I lost the habit of good service in Florida, today I remembered how it is to be a GUEST and not a customer in a restaurant. Thank you. Chantelle They made my Sunday evening full of attention and smile and the cook whose rich taste I expected.

However, the side dishes left something to be desired. The beans were tasty, but the mac and cheese lacked flavor and character; I would have liked it to be bolder. Additionally, the cornbread was a bit of a letdown as it felt like it was made from regular flour with just a hint of corn flavor. Despite that, it was still enjoyable. On a positive note, the cocktails were excellent! I highly recommend trying the mule.

This place came up on my Google suggestions a few months back. Just got a chance to check it out and it was good! Both West Salem BBQ and El Jefe share the same kitchen and same menu. They are in the same building g but each with it's own theme. Want tacos? Let'em! Want BBQ...have at it. Enjoyable food and atmosphere. We'll be back!

We enjoyed some of the best food we've had in a long time. The smoked wings were the finest we've ever tasted, and the Margarita was fantastic. The service and the atmosphere were outstanding as well. The wings seasoned with the pineapple Habanero sauce were an excellent choice. We can’t wait to return!
