The Half Penny Grill - Salem

Let me just say OUTSTANDING! For the first time in the Half Penny to try Thursday Rib Night. It didn't disappoint! Every employee, host, server, bartender and these magic elves in the kitchen were great!! You also have a take home menu/caldar so you know all the wonderful things they offer. The Half Penny will be a regular thing!

This place has the best happy hour and daily specials in the city. While the service can be a bit slow when it's busy, the staff is always friendly. The food is excellent, far surpassing most other bars in the area.

Always get a good service here. Nice friendly bartender. I came here looking for a Philly cheese, had no one, but her French dip was a good subsite. Au jus was savory, bread was soft and meat was delicious. I also didn't know for a contract, but they had a live band playing and they definitely played good music. Everything in a wonderful evening.

The restaurant is fantastic, offering delicious dishes and a great atmosphere with good music. The mac and cheese is particularly impressive, featuring three different types of cheese and wonderfully crispy, thick-cut bacon pieces.

The food was incredible! The portion sizes were outstanding for the price. I ordered a full rack of ribs that were so tender, they just fell off the bone—no knife necessary. There was plenty of meat; I ended up taking half of it home because it was such a generous serving. It also came with homemade mac and cheese featuring real bacon bits, coleslaw, and a sizable garden salad. My wife chose the quesadilla, which was a 12-inch tortilla filled to the brim with ground beef and all the toppings. It was definitely more than one person could eat. She mentioned it was very delicious as well. The waitstaff were extremely polite, and you could really sense the positive atmosphere; it felt like everyone was enjoying themselves. This is definitely a place we will be returning to!
