Jackson's Boat - Sale

This restaurant is very welcoming to both dogs and families. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. Prices are reasonable. However, the peas were not very fresh, and the salad was rather plain and slightly wilted. On the positive side, the pie, chips, lasagna, and garlic bread were all excellent. It’s a great place to stop after a long walk. I noticed that there were kids there, so it’s definitely family-friendly. Price range per person: £20–30. Food rating: 3 out of 5.

The restaurant is severely understaffed, leading to chaos at the bar, which was designated for hot drinks only, but there were no signs to indicate this. We were directed to the other side of the bar, where we faced a 20-minute wait just to place our order. It seemed like there wasn’t much food available, but we decided not to stay any longer to find out. It was a disappointing experience for Boxing Day. What a shame. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Went for lunch with 5 relatives on a Thursday afternoon. The pub was FREEZING cold. We foolishly stayed and ordered some food. The gammon was burned and cold (some achievement, cheese and onion pie all pastry and the presentation of the curry was, to say the least, revolting. No brown sauce, only BBQ. But, yippee, the chips were warm. Well done chef, you can deep fry frozen chips. Shame but ill spend my hard earned pennies elsewhere in future.
