La Morcilla Tapas - Salamanca

Stopped here for lunch as my husband wanted to try the morcilla .. as they had many different varieties. He got a tasting plate which was enough for two people . I got a lovely cáptese salad and bull tail callelino . Service good

Space located in a basement, with a picturesque, friendly decoration and where we feel in Spain. Regarding the food, unfortunately, nothing special, with a rubbery and difficult to eat tourney, although it was at the right point, it was very difficult to cut (meat quality). My daughter ordered pork and we had to ask for a little more, as it was completely pink inside. we paid around 26€ per head, which I thought was expensive for the quality of what we ate. I don't intend to go back... I didn't like it.

We visited this place twice and it’s one of the few cafes that open early to service the breakfast market. A lot of nearby cafes don’t open until after 10am. This place was open for business around 8am and on the second visit we were leaving the city so needed somewhere to eat. The food was excellent and the coffee top quality. It is in a good spot at lunch time as well, lots of people on their way to or from Plaza Mayor and hence a great people watching location.

If you are a tourist, don 't go there! It 's become A TOURIST TRAP, as it 's not reasonably priced anymore in fact it 's quite expensive now €17 per set menu , especially if you consider that their service and quality of the food has become INCREDIBLY POOR : For example, this past Sunday 7th July, the salad remained untouched as it was literally *soiled*. Apparently, the kitchen staff couldn 't bother to wash it before serving it: DISGUSTING!.. And the muscled up, cockish waiter who 's also supposed to be a supervisor, I 'm told couldn 't care less when we pointed that out to him. He said Oh, that never happens! and left. The TEMPURA vegetables were SUSPICIOUSLY DEEP BROWNISH, instead of having that usual, pleasant golden colour. One wonders whether they ever change their frying oil here.. Our child 's Cachopo was as hard a shoe sole. I 'm not exaggerating here. Believe me, we have had Cachopo before, not only in Asturias but also in Salamanca, but we hope never again like this one. Finally, their cutlery, tableware, the cheapest paper tablecloth possible in fact, it 's just a ridiculous 50 cm wide strip of paper that doesn 't cover the stained wooden table enough , all so shabby, which is a shame as it is right next to the Main Square. If you want a nice experience with your family or friends, then THIS restaurant IS NOT FOR YOU. Salamanca has many decent tapas bars, in and around the city centre. Si eres de Salamanca o español en general, pues no te molestes en ir a este sitio a comer ya que quedarías mal, decepcionado, y te saldría CARO. Ha empeorado mucho con respecto a antes, y se a vuelto en una mera 'trampa turística ', ya que está al lado de la Plaza Mayor y uno se esperaría algo más aceptable. Todo es UNA CUTRERÍA TOTAL: la comida, el servicio, limpieza, los cubiertos... Fíjate por ejemplo, te sirven el postre prefabricado en tarrinas de plástico transparente de lo más miserable que hay. En fin, ni siquiera te dan recibo a la hora de pagar. El camarero 'musculitos ' con actitud de chulo al que no le importa para nada que la ensalada esté manchada de tierra y que, además, se supone que es el encargado, te dice el precio por boca. Pero menos mal que pagamos con tarjeta y queda constancia: Tres menús dos adultos y un nigno 53,80€. En fin, si hubiera estado bien la comida cachopo y verduras en tempura: FATAL! ; si hubieran tenido un buen trato, consideración y un mínimo de profesionalidad, no nos hubieramos quejado :

Sitio situado en el centro al lado de la plaza mayor, con una terraza perfecta para tomar vermut! La comida riquísima, pedí risotto de espinacas y entrecot en el menú que valía 16 euros ,con bebida y postre incluido en el precio , el servicio super amable y atento también rápido y eficiente! Somos gallegos y nos gusta el buen comer y este es un sitio que reúne todas las características para ello. Super recomendable!
