La Belle Vilaine

We stopped here just for a drink but loved the atmosphere so much that we stayed for dinner! Food was delicious and portions were huge! I could have happily shared with my mum but hey ho. The guy we think is the main man is quite a character! A good laugh and certainly makes you feel welcome! Loved it so much that we made sure we went back for lunch at the end of our holiday too!!

We have been travelling by bike and found many restaurants closed /not yet open for the season. Our food choices were often restricted to fast food options. Our expectation was a burger/chips place but at least it was in a great location on the banks of the river . The location was indeed great , the food was a glorious surprise . The menu is not huge but includes octopus and gambas , both with great veg. Wonderful mozzarella salad , roast lamb and a melt in the mouth steak and chips. The owner/ chef is funny and quirky .

Great food, so well looked after by management staff , perfect location. For locals, tourists dont miss the chance to sample the Le Belle Villaine.
