Tortillas Carolina - Saint Pauls

Located just a mile off Route 95 at exit 31, this place is a great alternative to the typical fast food options. The tacos were outstanding! It's a cozy, mom-and-pop style venue that's not flashy but has a warm, local vibe. The prices are excellent too. I will definitely return the next time I'm traveling down South!

This restaurant treats us really well, although some locals don’t seem to appreciate it. I believe it's just a matter of difference in taste. The food is authentically Mexican and prepared the right way. We tried the chicken tacos, and the flavor was excellent—perfectly balanced without being overpowering in spices.

We arrived after the lunch rush to find the restaurant quite empty. It has around eight tables and is on the small side, but it was clean and inviting. The menu is limited, but the food was fresh, the portions generous, and everything was incredibly delicious. There was a salad bar with plenty of toppings to complement our meals. The carnitas were moist, wonderfully tender, and had just the right amount of spice. The barbacoa was shredded and equally tasty! Since the restaurant is connected to a tortilla factory, the tortillas and chips were fresh, soft, and simply delightful. We’ll definitely be returning!

Everything is made from scratch, and it's definitely worth the wait. If you're a fan of hot sauces, you'll love the variety of toppings available for your tacos.

I have to say, we did not eat here. We were very disappointed after driving by many times and being enticed by the outside. Last Saturday we went in to give it a try. The interior was very dirty and sparse. There was a small cafeteria warming table in the back where you place your order. The food looked very unappetizing. Dried out and covered with tin foil. A person was standing behind it and pushing food back in to the main serving compartment with an ungloved hand. We just had to walk away. Yikes!
