Sakana - St Paul - Saint Paul

Me and my boyfriend are regulars at Sakana one of our favorite restaurants but this time around We were disappointed. Never had an issue with making a reservation or the food, but when we arrived they didn’t have our reservation they so they were hesitant to seat us. The food is usually very good but this time I could tell it was rushed I always get their sesame chicken and it was very watery and the chicken was very tough hard to chew I’m not sure if they

First I want to mention our server was a sweetheart. She was clearly working hard to assist all tables and the place was understaffed. It was hard to watch because the bar was empty and the bartender and other employee seemed to be super laid back while the waitress was clearly overwhelmed. Appetizers were awesome, sushi really stood out in a good way. As for the main entree I wasn't too impressed. Overpriced for what it is and the noodles in both dishes were overly sauced and soupy. I'd try it again though, it seemed like it has some potential!

Really sad to post this review. Seriously never a problem before but something wrong in the kitchen and wait staff. No orders taken. Staff walking by with NO eye contact. In 20 plus years have not walked out but we did. Please fix the problem and talk to your patrons.

The miso soup was too salty. The rest was good. The waiter was very nice, but the service a bit slow in the beginning.

Still the freshest and best sushi in the Twin Cities!
