Contribuiți la feedbackA very popular and busy restaurant with friendly staff and an open kitchen. choose the buffet, a selection of help their self-starters and desserts many choices and a served at the table main. Last time I had the spicy lamb that was fantastic, and my friend the duck. this time there was a beef special, so decided to try. it turned out to be a very generously dimensioned filet steak. all well, although I preferred the lamb of my last trip.
The crossing from portsmouth to st malo is quite long and what better way to pass the time than to eat (and well we were told that there is a snake outside the restaurant doors so that we make sure that we. first in the line. the charming recipe staff led us to a table at the window that was simply perfect to see the harbour slip away in the evening light. we chose the buffet, which is a buffet starter, served at the table and choice buffet desserts. the choice was plentiful and fresh for the starter, the main (we both had dee) was raised, pink and juicy, and the selection of desserts so great and impressive that we all have eaten well, we tried! to think that this is a restaurant on a cross-channel ferry is amazing that it is us back to the blossom of silver service restaurants on the shorter ferry connections about 30 years ago. bravo, bretagne ferry and their chefs!
I traveled with my daughter, we are both vegetarian, but unfortunately she also has to follow a gluten-free diet. we fed from the buffet menu and the staff went out from there to find out which dishes were suitable for them. the cook made sure that her main course provided her needs. that all turned around what a disturbing and stressful experience could have been in a pleasant and relaxed. the restaurant was very busy, but they still found the time we had to thank them.
I have been travelling on this ship for over 20 years from Portsmouth to St Malo. The early evening departure from Portsmouth means you can head straight for the restaurant at about 19.30 and have a first class meal before getting an early night and...a good nights sleep on the journey to St. Malo. The restaurant Les Abers is much loved by English passengers because it gives a French start to a holiday with excellent service and good food. There are two menus full a la carte served at your table or buffet self service for starters, cheese and dessert plus the same main dishes served by your waiter. The a la carte offers interesting starters but the buffet is a magnificent spread. The smoked salmon sourced by Brittany Ferries is some of the best I have ever had and this with a few of the tasty prawns does a lot to whet the appetite. On our last trip Fillet of Beef was back on the menu but we chose sole with a lovely delicate Japanese Citrus Sauce. A wide choice of wine is available to suit all pockets but I can never understand the French passion for San Pelligrino when France's own Badoit is just as good. The service in this restaurant is always first class and the cooking very good bearing in mind the volumes turned out by the kitchens. Brittany Ferries this is a job well done and you can be proud of what you achieve.
Rien a dire, petit hotel génial je le recommande vivement, les gérants sont d'une gentillesse comme on en trouve peux et on y trouve sont compte au buffet du petit déjeuner
