Kaldi's Coffee House - Saint Louis

This is not Starbucks! Don't order like it is! Kaldi's is hands down my favorite coffee shop, and we're admittedly coffee snobs. Their staff is great. They're real baristas who made delicious drinks with their own locally roasted beans. The Kirkwood location is tastefully decorated and offers lots of tables and couches to take a break or catch up on some work in a quiet place.

Nice and cozy coffee shop. Great tasting treats. I loved the chocolate and banana nut bread. Cafe Mocha tasted good as well. Good customer service. Will be back again.

Their espresso machine wasn't working and of course I had gone in there for a latte. They made me a special drink with a regular coffee and got it as close to a latte as possible and it was amazing! I really appreciated that! They are good at their job and they really know coffee!

I have been a diehard Kaldis fan for years! Slowly over the years as they have grown as a company they have gotten increasingly worse in both food and drink quality. Years ago they did quality checks every few hours on the flavor profiles of their espresso and rarely IF ever did you get a wrong drink or bad service and now it seems every other visit I am having to ask them to remake my drink while they argue with me on why it 's correct. I am just about done with the loyalty bond and ready to look for a new local company that cares about the product instead of the profit. What a huge loss. Oh, and months ago I reached out to Kaldis to share my thoughts, but no response was ever given from them.

This location was once a better environment as a coffee shop. I stopped coming here after they started closing at 4 PM, after they got rid of the 1 or 2 decent items on their menu. I decided to come back and try it again, and it's 58F outside, and their thermostat is set to 68F, the A/C is absolutely blasting, people are sitting around wearing winter coats (and saying nothing about it, and shouldn't have to). Perhaps that's how staff exterminated the fruit flies buzzing around the fresh water tap the last time I was here. I'm leaving and not planning to come back. If/when Kirkwood ever gets a legit coffee shop, the captive audience here will follow.
